Billing and Insurance
Co-pays are due at time of appointment for in network insurance plans and we will directly send the bill to your in network plan. Fees are due at appointment if out of network or self pay. If we are not in-network with your insurance, we will provide you with a complete bill to submit to your insurance company with the information needed, but at this time Collegiate Mental Wellness may not be considered insurance eligible with your plan and you may be responsible for the full cost. Please check your benefits if you would like to submit our billing statement to your insurance for reimbursement. Please check your benefits if you would like to know if we are in network for your specific plan.
We may not be able to answer questions about your specific insurance benefits, please check before scheduling if you would like to seek reimbursement for therapy or medication management. You may also consider using an HSA or FSA to cover costs.

Billing FAQs
Why do I need a credit card or debit card on file?
A credit, debit, HSA or FSA card is required at the time of booking the appointment. Your card information will be kept secure on file in Simple Practice where your information is protected. For now, this card will be billed the fee for service the same day as your visit. If you need to cancel a visit, please cancel at least 24 hours in advance of your appointment.
Do you take my insurance?
Dr. Scharlau is in network with Optum (Medica, United Healthcare, and other plans with Optum), BlueCross Blue Shield, and Health Partners.
Do we partner with any other providers?
We will update as additional in network becomes available.
